Groundbreaking Hosted by Keymark Construction for Addition to Next Step Facility
Terre Haute, Ind. – Terre Haute’s Keymark Construction is proudly celebrating its next project, an addition to one of the community’s leaders in combating addiction.
On Wednesday, Keymark hosted a groundbreaking for Next Step, a residential recovery community in the Farrington’s Grove neighborhood. The project, which is slated to be completed in Spring 2024, will add offices and multiple private meeting spaces for peer recovery, counseling and more services for clients within the recovery process.
“I really like this project because it started as a partnership,” explains Keymark President Jacob Hellmann. “The goal is to produce a quality building at an affordable price for this non-profit… we want to do something that will complement the neighborhood and the existing building.”
Located at the corner of Washington Ave in Farrington’s Grove, Next Step operates out of a former church building. The faith-based organization provides both residential programs and outpatient services. Executive Director Dana Simons says “unfortunately” the organization is growing, as there is a great need for recovery options in the area. Simons says the second building will afford staff to expand treatment options, hold private counseling sessions and accommodate the growing number of staff members.
“I’m always amazed at how God works,” Simons says. “This was a very expensive proposition (to expand and build) but He provided what was needed. We are very blessed to work with great companies who recognize the importance of our work.”
The property was gifted to Next Step by Thompson Thrift, Simons explains. The company then referred Hellmann and his company Keymark to serve as the construction company leading the project. Hellmann, who once lived in Farrington’s Grove, says his team plans to build an addition that compliments the historic neighborhood and existing building.
